My name is Vanessa Aguilar, and I am originally from El Salvador. I am a proud wife and mom to two beautiful daughters, who are my greatest joy.

I have been part of the Mass Eye and Ear family since 2014. I started my career in the Call Center and moved to the Head and Neck Department in 2017, where I work as a Medical Administrative Assistant. I am fortunate to be part of such an amazing and supportive team, and I truly enjoy helping our patients and their families throughout their care.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. Whether we are watching movies together, going for a walk in the park, or simply enjoying time together, those are the moments I cherish most.

Physician assistant, Head and Neck Surgery

Jarrod Stein is a physician assistant (PA) at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear (MEE) and Atrius Health. Since graduating from the Tufts University Physician Assistant program in 2018, Jarrod has been practicing in head and neck surgical oncology at MEE, caring for patients alongside his mentors Dr. Jeremy Richmon and the late Dr. Mark Varvares.

He helped start and currently facilitates the head and neck cancer survivorship program, a multidisciplinary clinic that aims to help head and neck cancer survivors with complex physical and psychological effects of prior treatment not only survive but thrive by addressing challenges with eating/swallowing, voice/speech, nutrition, physical activity and any impact these have had on their mental and social health.

His commitment to education is reflected in his roles serving on the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Committee for the American Head and Neck Society and as the lead preceptor for PA students at MEE, mentoring the next generation of providers. He is a recipient of the first MEE APP of the Year award through Mass General Brigham. Jarrod additionally practices at Atrius Health, where his clinical interests extend to general ear, nose and throat care.

A proud Massachusetts native, Jarrod currently resides in Quincy but also spends time with his family in Florida and his friends in New York. He is also a passionate lifelong musician, singing and playing piano and guitar as both a solo act and with various bands, including the NYC-based cover band Candy Shop. Among his many interests, he has a particular love of film, food, football and history.
